I know this isnt the image I used. I had some stock saved on my computer and didnt realise you removed it untill I was searching for picture to put it under credits. Will you allow the use on Horse Phenomena as horse picture or do I delete the image?
Right now I just want to invest in lenses, and then eventually an even newer upgraded full frame when I can afford it sometime during my lifetime, lol. I can tell you that the 5D MKII is far superior to my 40D!
Oh, the Nikon D800 is pretty dang awesome! I have some photos of me that were shot with that camera, and the detail is amazing! Right now, I really like using my 50mm portrait lens because of the low f-stop, but then again I shoot lots of landscapes with my 17-40 wide angle. And now I am really wanting the 70-200mm f2.8 lens! I've shot with the Mark II version of that lens, but it's so pricey right now, but a telephoto will be my next investment!
Well darling, i have the 70-200 f/2.8L IS II USM, and i can tell you this:
You will NEVER, really never be dissapointed! I have to admitt, it's f#cking pricy, like all red ringed lenses from Canon (exept some cheaper 70-200 versions and the 17-40 you mentioned)...it's focus is that fast that if you even think of blinkin your eye, the focus is done...if calibrated (i don't know if that's possible with the 5D Mk.II to calibrate specific Canon lensen...on the 7D, it's possible).
The feeling of holding that lens...it's silent motordrive system...it's outstanding lens elements and some exotic coating...it's...what can i say...that's the best lens Canon ever made...it's as easy as that...
I also have the Canon EF 50 f/1.2L USM, EF 24-105 f/4L IS USM, EF 8-15 f/4L USM Fisheye...
I really want a 24-70 f/2.8L USM or 24-70 f/4 IS USM to replace the 24-105 because that's not the best L lens i own
I think, the 70-200 f/2.8L IS II USM will not drop in price very much...second hand is something to keep in mind...L lensen keep their value (exept when they're damaged too much...)
I can't say which is my favo lens...Fisheye for concerts and events, 70-200 for portrait and action ...50 f/1.2 for extreme DoF, 24-105 as an allrounder...
I had rented the 70-200 MK II lens a couple of times, and the first time it was for my 40D, but the second time (back in February) I had the 5D MKII, so the quality was just astonishing! I had gone a road trip to various national parks, and I practically used that lens like 90% of time! It was wonderful for landscapes, and eventually I will upload some of those pics here!
Right now, of my own lenses, I just have a 50mm f1.4, and a 50mm f2.5 which is a small macro lens that I like! And then my wide angle is the only L-series that I have and yes! Their quality is amazing and that's where all the investment should go! Camera bodies get cheaper, lenses get more expensive.
A fisheye would be awesome! But I see myself using that if i was traveling cities, but right now I am focused on nature, and the 70-200 would be perfect! Actually, that just reminded that I had posted this blog earlier this winter [link] and those were all with the 70-200 MKII lens! It sounds so tempting right now lol!
